A summer photo session calls for light and airy fabrics. I tend to steer men away from shorts in photo sessions as leg hair can be distracting, however as always, wear what makes you feel good. The first style board in this series is perfect for a garden setting.
I LOVE this mint green color maxi dress. It feels summer-like and works with many different skin tones and hair color. I paired it with the colorful sandals from Anthropologie. Add a woven hat for a summer accessory. To compliment this light green color and add a slight pattern, I chose the gray windowpane pants paired with a pink button down shirt. I completed the mens look with a boat shoe.
My favorite of the kids looks is this sweet pink and white striped dress. The sizing is for age 5- 12 years old. I like to pattern mix when they are subtle like the stripes and polka dot of the chambray shorts. Keep the top simple with a white cotton shirt and fun detail Complete the look with gold strappy sandals.
The classic navy polo shirt and chino short look works for a wide age range for boys. And I love this gender neutral striped romper for baby. I found a few more options that would work for a photo session in a garden:
Another great place to take family pictures in the summer is at the beach. Either while on vacation somewhere tropical or at your favorite local beach. This next style board is all about beach outfit inspiration for the whole family.
The watercolor print dress was the jumping off point for this style board. I love the many color options it gives for everyone else and the fabric and cut of this dress is perfect for family pictures on the beach, especially when paired with the gold strappy sandals.
How amazing is this one shoulder tassel romper!? The size range is from 5-14 years and is a versatile summer piece beyond the photo session. For a younger girl, another romper with a ruffle detail; this one in a dark shade of pink. I kept the boy look simple with slightly distressed denim and white polo shirt.
