Fall Family Photo Inspiration

September and October are popular months for family photos! I have been busy curating photo session style inspiration for many families. The fall foliage makes for a beautiful back drop and it is a great time to update your family photo. I have three style boards to share today so you have time to plan if you have a fall session coming up!

This first style board features deep fall colors like this beautiful burgundy and navy. I love the floral pattern for the little girl look! The amazing colors pull all the looks together. Dark denim, a camel boot and cozy burgundy sweater is simple and stunning for a fall photo session. Add a long necklace to complete the look. For the men’s look, I chose a pair of khakis and navy gingham shirt layered with a navy half-zip sweater. Red Wing boots complete this look and add a great pair of boots for the fall and winter season. The boy’s look is another layering opportunity with corduroys paired with a chambray shirt and navy quilted vest.

This next style board features a color palette with dusty rose and rust, which is a bit unexpected and I LOVE it so much.

A chambray dress is a great transition from summer to fall and so many shades of blue will work with this beautiful color palette. Depending on weather and photo session setting you can layer with an open cardigan and ankle boots. For the men’s look, I went with khaki chinos, paired with a cotton blazer. The muted color tone is perfect for photos. I was eyeing this amazing, rust linen boys shirt earlier in the season and I thought it worked so well here! I love it with the medium wash denim. The twirliest dresses for girls! The dusty pink and the blue and white pair nicely and add interest and dimension to this family photo style board.

This third style board features a golden mustard and olive green color combination which would look amazing among the fall foliage.

The little girl look has a fall floral pattern and metallic boot. Obviously the chambray dress with the feminine ruffle detail and ankle boot would look beautiful among the fall colored trees. Mom’s look is a simple yet colorful dress layered with a denim jacket and neutral shoes. The men’s look incorporates the olive green, but paired with a classic light blue button down to keep it from going to dark. Finally the boy’s look is the fall staple pattern, navy gingham, layered under the quilted navy vest, paired with the corduroys.
