As promised I put together more summer family photo style inspiration. Here are two more style boards!

This style board is full of color and with so many options, everyone in your family can wear something they love! The bright pink dress is from Anthropologie and it makes a statement on it’s own, but ties in beautifully with the other colors as well. I kept the shoes neutral and more casual, with gold jewelry to complete the look.

I kept dads look toned down a bit to pair with the bright color of the dress, in a classic chambray and navy short combo. I almost added a fedora hat, so if that is your personal style – add it!

Both of the little girl dresses incorporate the colors. I added the hot pink shoes to complete either look. Both dress options are from Boden and come in the size range of 2 to 12 years old.

I love the orange hue of the boys shorts on this board, especially next to the bright pink dress. These are from J Crew and range from 2 to 16 years old. I added another pattern to the mix with the blue gingham button down shirt.

For the other two boy looks I mixed a kerry green color with a striped blue and white combo. Depending on the weather or setting, you can easily swap these shirts to t-shirts or longer sleeves. I wanted another pop of orange somewhere, so I added the white tennis shoes with the colorful detail.

As usual, I find other pieces while shopping for the style board that would also be amazing. Here are a few to consider:

This next board is more muted, but also amazing. I love the lilac hue of the maxi dress with embroidery details. Again, I kept the sandals neutral and comfortable so they would work well if you were on a beach or in a field. I swapped out dads shirt for one a bit lighter and dressier.

For the boys I selected pieces in shades of blue, grey and blush and added the sweetest light blue dress with eyelet details for the little girl. I completed the look with a floral headband and sandals.

Weddings are a great way to get dressed up and express your personal style! I created a couple style boards with wedding looks for several different wedding style settings.

The first style board features looks for the beach, black tie and a fabulous jumpsuit.

Beach weddings tend to be more casual. I gravitate towards color and airy fabrics when pulling for celebrations on or near the beach. I also recommend flats or wedges for ease of walking through sand, grass or uneven terrain. For this style board, I went with a blue/white floral combo and paired it with a woven bag and gold accent jewelry.

My favorite piece on the board is the stunning one shoulder dress for the black tie look. I love this color with the turquoise stud earrings, and then I selected a beaded clutch and heels to complete the formal look.

If you have read previous blog posts here you have seen a few jumpsuit looks, this is a great way to dress it up to attend a wedding. I love the color, and paired with a statement earring and high heel, you will turn heads!

Similar to the airy fabrics for women, my pick for a beach wedding is a linen suit in a light color. Depending on how casual the event is, you can pair flip flops with your suit and leave the collar open and comfortable. I found some great sunglasses to complete the look.

The classic tuxedo works for the formal wedding scenarios; this one is Hugo Boss. The best thing you can do to your look your best is to make sure the fit is correct. One great fitting suit is better than a closet full of too big or too small.

Finally, this navy suit will work in almost any wedding guest scenario. Complete the look with dress shoes in cognac and a polka dot pocket square.

The summer is a busy time for reunions, whether it is family or school reunions. I created two style boards as inspiration if you have one coming up!

The first style board is for an event more on the casual side. You can still look and feel pulled together while dressing casual by choosing classic pieces that fit you well. This goes for both women and men – I selected outfits for both:

Starting with the woman’s look, I selected a pair of classic white denim, paired with a sleeveless blouse with feminine details. Layer on a denim jacket in a light wash and complete the look with a floral print sandal, gold hoop earrings and woven clutch.

For the men’s look, I went with a deep navy pair of shorts and light linen button down shirt. This pulls your look together a bit more than a tee-shirt, but is nice and airy for the summer temps. Add a classic pair of Birkenstocks and Frye leather wallet from Nordstrom Rack.

The second style board is on the dressier side, for an evening or cocktail hour event.

Cocktail hour attire is an opportunity to express your personal style! This Diane Von Furstenberg dress on this style board, leans a bit retro with the print, but the cut is feminine and modern. Add a neutral shoe and clutch and I loved these made-in-Italy acetate earrings!

Once again a navy suit is great for many occasions. Have fun with your accessories: pocket square, tie etc.

A summer photo session calls for light and airy fabrics. I tend to steer men away from shorts in photo sessions as leg hair can be distracting, however as always, wear what makes you feel good. The first style board in this series is perfect for a garden setting.

I LOVE this mint green color maxi dress. It feels summer-like and works with many different skin tones and hair color. I paired it with the colorful sandals from Anthropologie. Add a woven hat for a summer accessory. To compliment this light green color and add a slight pattern, I chose the gray windowpane pants paired with a pink button down shirt. I completed the mens look with a boat shoe.

My favorite of the kids looks is this sweet pink and white striped dress. The sizing is for age 5- 12 years old. I like to pattern mix when they are subtle like the stripes and polka dot of the chambray shorts. Keep the top simple with a white cotton shirt and fun detail Complete the look with gold strappy sandals.

The classic navy polo shirt and chino short look works for a wide age range for boys. And I love this gender neutral striped romper for baby. I found a few more options that would work for a photo session in a garden:

Another great place to take family pictures in the summer is at the beach. Either while on vacation somewhere tropical or at your favorite local beach. This next style board is all about beach outfit inspiration for the whole family.

The watercolor print dress was the jumping off point for this style board. I love the many color options it gives for everyone else and the fabric and cut of this dress is perfect for family pictures on the beach, especially when paired with the gold strappy sandals.

How amazing is this one shoulder tassel romper!? The size range is from 5-14 years and is a versatile summer piece beyond the photo session. For a younger girl, another romper with a ruffle detail; this one in a dark shade of pink. I kept the boy look simple with slightly distressed denim and white polo shirt. I did find several other pieces that would work well in a beach photo session:

We are headed into warmer weather and if you happen to be expecting, I put together a style board to keep you cool and stylish all summer! I have three kiddos and for two of them I was pregnant through the summer.

Personally, I invested in a few good maternity staples, but really tried to make due with as many non maternity pieces as possible (cardigans, roomy dresses etc.).

I curated outfits for a variety of occasions, from baseball game or BBQ to baby shower.

Starting on the left side of the board. Let me just say, I LOVED maternity pants – so comfortable! A pair of maternity boyfriend denim and tank tops are great for casual everyday. Complete the look with a pair of tennis shoes.

The next look is a mint colored drawstring skirt and tank, layered with a beautiful floral kimono. This is an example of how I incorporated non maternity items during my pregnancies. I would wear maternity bottoms and a tank top and then change up my look with light weight kimonos or cardigans that would work post partum. Bold accessories like earrings, hats and scarves also add style without having to fit a growing bump.

The outfit in the middle of the board could be for work or a summer date night. White denim paired with a blush short sleeve blouse with a flattering v-neck detail. To complete this look, simple yet stylish slides look really good and eliminate the need for tying or buckling!

A maxi dress is an easy way to keep cool and stay comfortable all summer long. This is another area in your wardrobe you can usually get away with sizing up for a bit roomier non-maternity dress to get more wear later on. Layer on a denim jacket for cooler evenings or sun coverage when needed. Short knit dresses are versatile for a summer pregnancy as well!

Finally, the amazing blush maxi in the top right corner! This is the most expensive piece on this board, but can work for baby showers, summer weddings, or maternity pictures. I found a few other items while styling this board:

In the end, you are growing an actual human person, so wear whatever makes you feel amazing!

It is that wonderful time of year, when graduates are wrapping things up and are ready to commemorate their hard work! Whether you are celebrating a senior in high school or college, I curated a few style boards for event-appropriate looks for the entire family.

Let’s start with the first graduation event style board – Brunch! This can also be another option for the ceremony, depending on your personal style or event type.

Mr. graduate is dressed in a great blue windowpane blazer with khakis. Complete his look with leather loafers. Ms. graduate is beautiful in the pale green pleated midi dress. A neutral wedge sandal completes this look and is a wardrobe essential.

In this particular style board, I chose a colorful, patterned pencil skirt, paired with a linen collared top and a neutral flat for mom. Suit separates are perfect in this case when a full suit may be too much. Dad has a grey blazer and open collar light blue dress shirt.

I kept the outfits for the younger family members within the age range of 6 to 16 in most pieces. The peach item is actually a romper that is longer in back to give it movement like a maxi dress, but the comfort and ease of a romper. I love this color! This is available in sizes for age 8-16 years. The other girl option, is an adorable mermaid pattern, so it is designed more for ages 2-12 years. You can’t go wrong with a light blue polo and navy twill shorts for boys of any age.

I wanted to make sure to include a few other options for a brunch type event. Or if you are like me and do not have graduation celebrations on the horizon – they are great summer outfits! Check ’em out:

Next up….the actual graduation ceremony! It is a bit dressier than the brunch style board and keep in mind, if your ceremony is outdoors, you may need to factor in layers depending on your location.

Starting again with the graduates on this board, I styled them knowing that they will most likely be wearing a gown. So for Ms. graduate, I selected a shorter, youthful floral dress, that will be comfortable and not distracting underneath the gown and stunning before and after the ceremony. Mr. graduate is wearing a neutral blue suit. Don’t forget, with the gown, shoes will be very noticeable.

Mom & Dad, or any other celebrating adults, will look amazing in these looks. The sleeveless, printed dress is easy to layer and fits many body types and styles. For dad, I went with suit separates again, but this blazer and dress pant combo is a bit dressier than the brunch pairing.

For the kids, I found fun, happy colors and textures! This yellow dress can be layered with a cardigan or denim jacket and is available for ages 7 – 16 years. Here are a few more ceremony attire options!

To round out the graduation event style inspiration series, I created a style board for an evening event. Perhaps you are invited to a formal dinner event or the school is hosting an event in the evening.

When you are being celebrated, why not literally sparkle and shine with your dress!?!? I love this beaded cocktail dress for Ms. graduate. I picked a slightly darker navy suit for Mr. graduate and of course a tie to complete the look.

For the younger family members, I found J. Crew Factory to have some great suiting options for boys ages 2 – 16 years. They are also affordable which is especially good when you have boys that turn pants into capris in a matter of months.
